Back Kick

  1. Fig. 1 shows the start with Nage's back to the bag.
  2. In Fig. 2 Nage looks back and the foot comes up straight into the bag. It is not like a karate kick where the foot is cocked to the knee and then thrust out.
  3. Fig. 3 shows the foot hitting the bag. Normally this would be at about knee level. Notice that as the foot went up to the rear the hands went out to the front.

  4. In Fig. 4 Nage's kicking foot comes back as Nage starts moving toward the target. The idea is to press the attack on Uke.
  5. Fig. 5 shows Nage continuing the attack on Uke. The pose with the hands up would be appropriate strikes.
