  1. Fig. 1 shows the start with Uke and Nage spaced so that Uke's extended lead hand does not quite touch Nage's extended sword.
  2. In Fig. 2 Nage's Boken is at the top of the Tachi Shomen Uchi and Uke is starting to move forward.
  3. In Fig. 3 Uke steps in and grasp Nage's wrist with Morote Tori.
  4. In Fig. 4 Nage moves back slightly, pulling Uke forward and at the same time drops the tip of the Boken bringing the boken between Uke and Nage in the typical Arm Down fashion.

  5. In Fig. 5 Nage has just taken the Higi Kime Grip which will also work well for the Arm Down. Nage's right foot has taken the 1st Irimi Step.
  6. Fig. 6 shows the end of the Arm Down.
  7. Fig. 7 shows the application of the Higi Kime cutting back into Uke and taking the sword.

  1. Fig. 8 shows the start with Uke and Nage spaced so that Uke's extended lead hand does not quite touch Nage's extended sword.
  2. In Fig. 9 Nage's Boken is at the top of the Tachi Shomen Uchi and Uke has started moving forward.
  3. In Fig. 10 Uke steps in and grasp Nage's wrist with Morote Tori.
  4. In Fig. 11 Nage moves back slightly, pulling Uke forward and at the same time drops the tip of the Boken bringing the boken between Uke and Nage in the typical Arm Down fashion.

  5. In Fig. 12 Nage is taking the Higi Kime grip just before the end of the 1st Tenkan Step. The Higi Kime grip works well during the Arm Down.
  6. Fig. 13 shows the end of the 2nd Tenkan Step and the end of the Arm Down.
  7. In Fig. 14 Nage has applied the Higi Kime and taken the Boken.
