Improvise Pointed Object

Reference: Kuta Punch

Kuta uses small pointed objects like a ball point pin. Several examples are given here. Small tools like the ones shown below can do tremendous damage to someone's face or even torso.

Example 1, Ball Point Pen

Fig. 1 Between Middle Fingers Fig. 2 Thumb And Finger Fig. 3 Hand Closed

  1. Fig. 1 shows Nage holding a ball point pen between the middle two fingers. Nage would close the fingers to punch.
  2. In Fig. 2 Nage is holding the pen between the thumb and first finger.
  3. Fig. 3 shows the pen between the thumb and first finger with Nage's hand closed.

Fig. 4 Start Fig. 5 Middle Fig. 6 Extended

  4. Fig. 4 shows Nage holding the pen prior to striking. The idea is to be casual and not look threatening. The pen might be hidden.
  5. In Fig. 5 Nage is has started the Kuta Punch holding the pen and the hand is going out.
  6. Fig. 6 shows Nage's arm extended with the punch. Now Nage quickly retracts the pen for another strike.

Example 2, Spoon

The Kuta Punch with the spoon is essentially the same as the pen in Example 1.

Fig. 7 Between Middle Fingers Fig. 8 Thumb And Finger Fig. 9 Hand Closed

  1. Fig. 7 shows Nage holding a spoon between the middle two fingers. Nage would close the fingers to punch.
  2. In Fig. 8 Nage is holding the spoon between the thumb and first finger.
  3. Fig. 9 shows the spoon between the thumb and first finger with Nage's hand closed.

Example 3, Chain Saw Wrench

The Kuta Punch with the wrench is essentially the same as the pen in Example 1. Nage had just been adjusting the chain saw and the wrench was lying there.

Fig. 7 Between Middle Fingers Fig. 8 Hand Closed

  1. Fig. 7 shows Nage holding the chain saw wrench between the middle two fingers. This makes a great push dagger but would probably not do well between the thumb and first finger.
  2. Fig. 8 shows the wrench with the hand closed.

Example 4, Tooth Brush

The Kuta Punch with the Tooth Brush is essentially the same as the pen in Example 1.

Fig. 10 Between Middle Fingers Fig. 11 Thumb And Finger Fig. 12 Hand Closed

  1. Fig. 10 shows Nage holding a tooth brush between the middle two fingers with the hand closed to punch.
  2. In Fig. 11 Nage is holding the tooth brush between the thumb and first finger.
  3. Fig. 12 shows the tooth brush between the thumb and first finger with Nage's hand closed.

Example 5, Spatula

The Kuta Punch with the spatula is essentially the same as the pen in Example 1. This method works equally well with large wooden spoons and similar objects.

Fig. 13 Start Fig. 14 Middle Fig. 15 End

  1. Fig. 13 shows Nage holding spatula by the handle in the middle for the Kuta Punch. The spatula end does not fit in the hand well.
  2. In Fig. 14 the spatula handle is coming up and heading to the target.
  3. Fig. 15 shows the spatula hitting the target. Nage now quickly pulls the spatula back without pausing.
