  1. Fig. 1 shows Uke and Nage spaced so that Nage's outstretched arm will not quite touch Uke's outstretched Jo.
  2. Fig. 2 shows Nage stepping in and doing a Kuta strike to Uke's face. Uke's Jo comes up to protect Uke's face.
  3. In Fig. 3 Nage's left hand grabs the Jo and Uke's lead hand. Nage's right hand grabs Uke's wrist from the bottom as usual in Tsuki Arm Down Irimi.

  4. Fig. 4 shows the end of the 1st Irimi Step. Nage's right hand has now shifted so that it is on top of Uke's wrist with Nage's palm down.
  5. Fig. 5 shows the end of the 2nd Irimi Step with Nage in the Tornado Twist.
  6. Fig. 6 is at the end of the Tornado Twist and Uke is down.

  1. Fig. 7 shows Uke and Nage spaced so that Nage's outstretched arm will not quite touch Uke's outstretched Jo.
  2. Fig. 8 shows Nage's back foot stepping forwards and grabbing Uke's lead hand. Uke did not really step in to attack so Nage did not strike Uke's face.
  3. Fig. 9 shows the end of the 1st Tenkan step. Nage has a good Arm Down position.

  4. Fig. 10 shows the end of the 2nd Tenkan Step. Nage is in the Tornado Twist and Uke is falling.
